HJH PTO GOAL SETTING WORKSHOP
Attendees: Lissa Beard, Ann Condon, Anne Friedemann, Deborah Hall, Joyce Jensch, Kathi Safford, Maggie Scrobonia, & Jennifer Tincknell.
Purpose: To establish goals and objectives for Healdsburg Junior High's Parent Teacher Organization (PTO).
Vision: The PTO will support activities which serve all members of the school population, ie; students, teachers, administrators and parents. Promote HJH events to the greater community through publicity and community outreach events and build relationships between students throughout Healdsburg Unified School District. Provide financial and volunteer support to meet our goals.
Specific Goals Discussed and Adopted
1.) Academic/ Educational Support
a.) Principal's Discretionary Fund (PDF)
b.) Funding for Teacher's Classroom Allowances
c.) Improvement in Technology Lab
Continue to support staff, principal and student's curriculum needs by providing funding for equipment, materials, supplies, technology purchases and upgrades.
2.) Enrichment-Schoolwide
a.) Student Gardens
b.) Intramural Activities
c.) Rainy-Day Activities
Support with funding and volunteer efforts activities that provide a safe and positive school environment.
3.) Climate/Morale
a.) Continued Support for Awards Program
b.) Teacher Appreciation Luncheons/Programs
c.) Student Dances/ Assemblies
d.) Year-End Student Activities
e.) Site Improvement/Beautification (Mural, Playground)
f.) Communications-Parent Education Nights, translation support. Support PTO programs which enrich and supplement student academics and life skills, community building and awareness and family outreach. Facilitate communications between HJH staff, PTO, parents, all HUSD schools, HEF and the community.
